Although the image topic doesn't have anything to do with her, this image is dedicated to Carol Marino. After a hard battle with cancer, Carol passed away Saturday afternoon.

I guess somebody up there wanted to make her journey a safe one, as Saturday's weather couldn't have been more perfect. It wasn't even really cold for the end of November.

Throughout her illness, Carol's main concern was that her family not be upset & worry about her - it seemed at times that this might have been the only thing on her mind. She was a beautiful woman inside and out, and touched the heart of everyone she met in one way or another. Her faith during a time when a lot of us would have said "why me" and threw in the towel, was amazing. Her attitude about life was an inspiration.

We were fortunate in the recent passing of Carol's father, and with Carol, to have been able to spend time with them. We were able to tell them both how much we love them and how much they mean to us. There's always the thought of "could we have done or said more?" that passes the mind, but I guess that's normal.

Carol was one of the truly good people in the world, and the world has been robbed.

If you think you've said "I love you" enough - believe me, you haven't. Call, email, write a letter - do what you have to do and get to someone that means a lot to you - brother, friend, Uncle, Mom, there's someone. Tell them - they want to know, please don't believe that they already know these things - say it again. Life is too short & there aren't any do-overs.
