The Beacon Centers are part of a nonprofit community that uses New York City schools to teach kids after school hours.
We were involved in teaching a lot of Beacon kids, both high school and junior high students, HTML. To help them learn HTML in a more fun way we collected a lot of pictures of dragons, castles, princesses, etc and asked them to make up stories corresponding to these images. Then we would have them link them all together--one story to the next. In the end classes would collectively create fantasy games in which users would meet different characters and make choices that would affect the outcome.
